Peculiarity
Now I’ve got the blessings all counted up and totalled, I can move on to the ramblings. I’m feeling just a tad peculiar tonight. Since my headache on Sunday morning I’ve been a bit spaced out. On Sunday afternoon I struggled to string sentences together, and found noise difficult to bear. This morning I had a very wibbly wobbly moment and felt quite faint for a while. I perked up at lunch time, only to feel worse again by the time I got home. Right now I have a hot and uncomfortable ear, am generally achey with shivery moments … and Richard says I have a few seconds delay when I answer a question! I wonder what kind of lurgy this is?! I feel like I’m living in a slightly different plane, detached and strange. Ah well, enough of the whinging – only a virus … I can deal with that. How lucky I am that all I have is a virus to worry about?
I went for my first jog since last May today … perhaps not such a great idea in retrospect. I figured that the more I dwelt on my peculiar feelings the worse it would be, so I made a point of ignoring it, and as I felt better at lunch time I got my kit on and went out. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and I made it quite a distance before I had to go back to walking. If I can keep doing it regularly I should be able to do the half jogging half walking thing in the race like I did last year.
I seem to have lost a couple of pounds over the weekend. Not a recommended method of weight loss feeling peculiar, not eating much, and having a dodgey tummy. But if you have to put up with these things its kind of nice to lose a couple of pounds in the process! So now only 5lb to get back to where I was before I stopped eating sensibly. Today I have eaten salad and fruit and cereal bars mainly so lots of healthy stuff. Although I suppose if you’re going to try and be healthy you should actually eat dinner … but I have no appetite left tonight along with the general peculiarness.
Tomorrow my car goes into the mechanics to see if they can cure its creaking and groaning. I think it needs a new bush or something on the suspension. I think that’s what it was a long while ago when it made similar noises. Me and the kids tidied it up so it wouldn’t be too embarassing – it was getting very messy in there. Ben was my super-helper. Abi ran out of enthusiasm quite quickly, but he kept going, mainly because I gave him the job of sucking up little bits and bobs with our little car vaccuum that plugs into the lighter socket
Great fun! Anyway hope we will be creak-free by the time I get it back afterwards.
On Sunday night Richard and I are going out to see Punt and Dennis! We don’t get out that much but we are making an effort to do so more. I’m really looking forward to it – they are really funny and I think we’ll have a great night out. Grandma and Grandad will be looking after the children for us which they will love.
Anyway I should probably stop my peculiar ramblings and go to bed shouldn’t I? I feel like I have lost the plot somewhat. Good night.

Hope you’re feeling less peculiar today, honey xx
