I wrote a blog post a while ago listing things about myself and I thought it would be a useful page to have here, in case someone has come to my blog and is wondering who on earth I am! So here’s some things about me – some are quite random and some are not …
My number 1 top priority in life has to be my children. They’re growing up now and are not quite as demanding as they once were, but they are still my main focus in life as you’d imagine. Sometimes they drive me mad, but I couldn’t be without them and love them more than I can say.- I’m separated from my children’s dad.
- I work in Web Development which mainly makes me happy, though as with all jobs it can sometimes make me frustrated and stressed. My work is not my life, but I do spend rather a lot of time at work, so it is fairly important!
- I like hot showers, so hot they make you gasp when you first get in.
- I like listening to music. I like the way I can find something for every mood – I like Spotify for this reason (and others). I like to have music as background when working, I like to relax in the bath to music, I like to dance to it, sing along, spin round the room, or just lay in the dark listening and absorbing myself in it. I like all sorts of music and recently have surprised myself by realising that I like dubstep when I didn’t even know that it was dubstep (if you see what I mean!). I also like making music, but I’m rubbish at it! I used to play the flute and got up to grade 5 in exams. I find people who can play instruments well really attractive (blush), especially the saxophone!
- I like to play computer games. I’m not a hardcore gamer but I can spend hours playing a game. I am a person of phases and get obsessed with one game for while, playing as much as possible. Then usually I get stuck or go off it and stop. Probably my all time favourite is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- I like to sing. I used to sing in church, used to be in the Methsoc music group many moons ago. I love the feeling of making a good sound and also there’s a special feeling in a group with voices around in harmony. Exhilarating. I don’t do it now, perhaps I should. I mainly sing in the shower and round the house now.
- I like to read. To be absorbed in a really good book for hours so the world falls away. I enjoy various genres like Fantasy, SciFi, Contemporary and I’m not ashamed to say I like a bit of Chick-Lit too.
- I like people. Sounds obvious but worth saying! I love my friends. I like to be a good friend back. If I can be a listening ear and help out I will do. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I have made lots of new friends, and some have made the transition to real life friends too.
- I like to play with technology. I love my iPhone and I like playing with stuff on the internet like Twitter, Foursquare etc and trying out the latest things. I like making web pages & learning how to do things.
- I don’t like treading on snails. It upsets me. Same with squashing animals on the roads. I have never ran over anything thankfully but I hate the idea of it.
- I like wearing glasses. Sometimes they bug me but nearly always I like them – I like the way I look in them – I think I look weird without them. I’ve got new ones now and look really different. I love them!
- I don’t like things that go too fast and I can’t control them. Big slides, or even small ones if they’re those curly tube ones, cars that someone else is driving fast, sledding down hills, roller coasters.
- I don’t like thunder and lightning. They make me feel very nervous and anxious and stressed. Sometimes I’ve been known to get nervous during those really hot spells in the summer that are bound to end with a massive thunderstorm.
- I like going for walks but I’m also lazy and rarely have the motivation to actually go. But I like it when I do and I love going up hills and seeing the view unfold.
- I like to take photos. I’m no expert but I enjoy trying to get a good picture and I’m mainly drawn towards close ups of plants, flowers and insects. My camera has a pretty good super macro setting so I’ve got some pretty decent photos. I’m contemplating splashing out on a “proper” camera and macro lens … maybe!
- I like to do sketching. I don’t do it often but I sometimes sit and sketch from a photo and though I don’t think I’m much good at it, I do see that there is a resemblance between my sketches and real life!
- I appreciate art and photography. I think that people who can capture a beautiful moment in photography are very talented, and those who can paint or draw a picture that captures a scene are very special. I am not keen on performance art or some of the weird installations and peculiar things that are done by people like Damien Hirst.
- I love Christmas and snow … well I like the idea of them! The reality is often somewhat disappointing or dangerous! But I do love the anticipation and excitement of Christmas with the children and the thrill of waking up to find the world has transformed to a wintry wonderland of beautiful snow.
