Ben is growing up fast. This week he has been spending time in Penglais, the secondary school he’ll be starting in September, as taster days to find out what its going to be like, even going on the school bus for the full experience. He has had a great time, and as far as he is concerned the only down side is that he has to go back to his “old school” tomorrow
His teacher told me a while ago that once they’ve had these taster days they always wish they could stay and find primary school small and dull – it’s true!
I’m impressed with Penglais – Ben had plenty of information and it was all organised well, and they even provided special Year 7 2010 t-shirts, which I though was a nice touch! Penglais is a big school, with great facilities and Ben is going to learn loads and have a great time there I think.
For me it is strange to think that my “baby” is ready for secondary school – I don’t feel that old! He’s so grown up and independent now – I’m really proud of the young man he is becoming. He’s funny, brave, sensible, smart, and just generally gorgeous
If he reads this I’ll be in trouble for being a very embarrassing mum!
