Spotted

Before I bought my Kenwood Chef I was pondering similar mixers and looking at prices. I went into Currys to see what they had and took a couple of pictures of their mixers so I could remember what they cost later. In the end I bought from Amazon as they were about £80 cheaper. Anyway my actual point is the photo I took of what turned out to be the very model of mixer I bought … Can you spot Abi (and a bit of me!)? :-)

I rather like our accidental photo. What a lovely shiny bowl it has! :-)

Poor Abi had an accident today and now has several nasty scrapes across her face which are very sore :-( Not posting a photo though as she’d rather I didn’t. She’ll be ok – just bruised and battered poor love.

A different Angle

I wanted to take a photo of a quick sketch I did … and this set me off doing a bit of close up photography. Clearly I am not a great photographer, nor do I have “proper” camera, but I quite like these shots looking at things from a different angle than you would normally see. And I did include the flower sketch as well in case you are interested :)

Grumpy but Grateful

I’m having a grumpy day today. At times like these it’s important to pick out things to be grateful for and be happy about and not dwell on the stuff that makes you grumpy. Well that’s the theory. Not sure I’m any good at putting it into practice.

So here is an attempt at a list of some things to be thankful for today:

  1. Music – I have been soothed by it today – in particular, Sting, this evening
  2. My job – I have one – it may be frustrating at times, but I have one, and generally speaking I  like my job very much indeed.
  3. Enthusiastic users – related to point 2 … when I train people who are keen and enthusiastic, it is very rewarding
  4. Beauty – even when grumpy it is possible to appreciate beauty … like dreamy photographs changing my opinion of Weston Super Mud :)
  5. My children – especially when they come and hug me for no particular reason and tell me I’m the best Mummy anyone could have (even if I don’t believe them!)
  6. Chocolate – I just have to be grateful for chocolate – what would we do without it?!
  7. Books – I can go and lose myself in a book (on my lovely kindle) and the world will fall away :)
  8. Tea – it makes everything better :)

Actually it turned out to be quite a good list :)

Too Cute

Lemurs

Lemurs

We went to Dudley Zoo back in October and they have a walk through lemur enclosure (Lemur Wood) where you can get close to gorgeous lemurs. These 3 were waiting next to a shed … they knew what was in there! They looked so cute lined up like naughty children, trying to be good so they could get fed :) This was probably the highlight of the zoo for all of us – these cute ruffed lemurs and also loads of ring-tailed lemurs all climbing around and running along paths around us. The only thing wrong with it was that they were so incredibly cute I was dying to stroke one – they looked so cuddly! Cuddling the animals was definitely not allowed though.

Robin

I’m very tired tonight, but rather than letting this be a blogless day I shall share a photo I took of a robin when it was snowy. He was a cheeky chap who kept following me when I was out for a walk. This was the best photo I got of him :)

And now, I’m off to bed!
